Paris, je t’aime

February 14, I celebrated Valentine’s day in Paris with my love. It was amazing! I’ve already been to Paris. Last year I went with my class when I was in high school. We had seen a lot, especially museums like Musée d’Orsay, Musée Rodin and Louvre. But it’s always more fun when you can do what you want. That’s why I wanted to go to Paris again.

In this blog post I’ll tell you more about my experiences in the city of love, Paris.♥

We booked a hotel in the area not far from the Champs Elysees called Le Jardin De Neuilly. It was a good hotel but we expected more. Small rooms and poor wifi. But fortunately there’s something called 4G! I was glad that there was a large bath because I had my collection Valentines lush balls with me. Time to relax after a tiring day. YAY

The first day, we walked through to the Champs Elysées. Shop in shop out. Famous shops like Abercrombie and Fitch, Louis Vuitton, Sephora, Guerlain,.. are worth to visit. We’ve taken a look at the Arc de Triomphe. Then we walked through Avenue Montaigne with all the great shops like Chanel, YSL, Dior, kind of windowshopping. ? Later in the afternoon we did the tourist bus tour. When you don’t know the city very well, it’s always advisable to do a bus tour. You visit all the tourist attractions in a few hours time. You can hop on and off when and how much you want. While the tour you get to hear about the places. Very interesting! It’s definitely worth the money. We paid 33 euros per person. To finish the day we shopped in Galeries Lafayette, it was open till 8PM, how cool is that?!! After shopping (and dreaming about fancy clothes) we ate something in Hard Rock Cafe. Robin ate the barbecue ribs and I ate the cobb salad with extra avocado, just the best! But you can’t leave without a cocktail!

The second day, after a delicious breakfast at Starbucks we went to the Eiffel Tower. We went to the top!!! We took two elevators until we were all upstairs. Waaaw what a beautiful view! Highly recommended!

Later in the day we took the metro to the Louvre museum. I really like this place. Not only the magnificent pyramids but also the garden. It was really nice weather that day so we decided to walk throughout the whole garden. It’s so beautiful. In the distance we saw the ferris wheel at Place de la Concorde. At the evening we went back to the Eiffel Tower, the tower was all light up. Soooo romantic! At one point we saw a man go on his knees, he asked his girlfriend to marry him. How cute is that?! We drank something at Le Malakoff, a cozy bistro at the Eiffel Tower. To end the day we ate something at Le Pain Quotidien, it’s always so delicious there!

Third day, last day. We got up early so we could enjoy a full day of Paris. We took the metro to Notre Dame to get to know the neighborhood. The Notre Dame is such a great building, it’s gigantic! We walked to Centre Pompidou. There you can find really nice bistros and cozy restaurants. There are also great shops like Stradivarius, Oysho, Lush, The Body Shop, Mango, and many more. We walked further along Pompidou Centre//Beaubourg, it’s a leading center for modern art in Paris. But .. it’s really an ugly building (sorrynotsorry). We also went to the shopping center located at Les Halles. You could say I’m a little shopaddicted.. In the afternoon we went to Montmartre. You just have to see this beautiful view! There were lots of people sitting on the stairs, enjoying the nice and warm weather that day. I couldn’t imagine a better day! After a visit at La Maison Rose we went to Paris-North to take the Thalys homewards. I really like to travel with the Thalys. The seats are very comfortable and you can even charge your devices like iPhone or Macbook. It’s about 1:30 hours to travel from Paris to Brussels.

I hope you enjoyed my blogpost about Paris♥ I’m in love with this romantic city. It’s perfect for a citytrip combined with a few days Disneyland Paris hehe!
