LONDON, WHAT ELSE

Hello sweethearts, a week ago I went back to London with my boyfriend. I couldn’t wait to go back! I’m addicted to that place as I told you already in my previous post about London ♥ We stayed 3 nights / 4 days, that was perfect for a citytrip and to have a break from everything. We traveled by Eurostar, not always the cheapest but it’s the easiest and shortest way to travel. I’ve ever been before by boat from Calais to Dover and then by bus to central London but it took waaaay too long. Nothing for me so I prefer to pay a little more.

In this new travel-post I’ll tell you more about my experiences in London. Even more enjoyable places and restaurants where you’ll find the real locals!

× DAY ONE
We arrived at St Pancras International Station (next to King’s Cross Station). It’s sooo easy because it’s in the center of London. There you can go very quickly to all directions by using the subway. If you travel a lot by subway (like me), then you’d better buy a day pass. It costs £12. Already arrived we went straight to Arbor City Hotel, a very nice hotel located in the City of London. It’s located very close at The Tower of London and the famous Brick Lane Market. We booked an execetive suite. It’s always comfortable when you sleep in a beautiful room when you’re tired from citytripping whole day. The hotel was well located, next to a subway station. The staff was very friendly and the room was perfect. Highly recommended! After we installed our luggage in the room we went to the city immediately. We first went to the famous Piccadilly Circus and the shopping streets like Oxford Street, Regent Street and SOHO. SHOPPING HEAVEN ♥ My fav’s stores are Topshop, Lush, Ted Baker, Victoria’s Secret, Hollister and … Hamleeeeys! After that, we wanted to take a look at SOHO & Carnaby Street. It’s so cosy to walk through the streets and to drink something. We took a drink at @ Balans Soho Society. A very nice bar! Especially in the “Christmas-coming-days” because there is a loooot of light decoration. If you are a Harry Potter Fan (like me), you must go to The House of Minalima. An exhibition and shop of the graphic art of the Harry Potter films, just amaaazing! After that, we took the subway to Westminster to get that real London-feeling at the Big Ben and London Eye. To finish the first day, we ate something at Rainforest nearby Piccadilly Circus. We always go to that place because it’s always sooo much fun and the meals are delicious!

× DAY TWO
After a blissful night we got up early. We had a nice breakfast to start the day. The reason why we get up early, is because we want to enjoy the whole day, and take the best photo shots of the Big Ben and London Eye / Westminster. Then we decided to do some shopping in the Bond and New Bond Street. I mean, ‘window shopping’ .. and of-couuurse I went to the popular Victoria’s Secret with four floors! That’s one of my favorite stores. I mean, who doesn’t like new lingerie and a nice mist?! I can walk for hours in that shop! After that we walked to Oxford Street to visit the famous Selfridge & Co. Unbelievable how great this store is! After a nice lunch @ Starbucks, we went by feet to Harrods along Hyde Park. The nature is so beautiful! We saw lots of squirrels who were tame and super cute! You can go for a walk in the park or have a picnic.. but in the winter months there is a big fair “Winter Wonderland” in the park. Definitely worth to do that. Once we had arrived at Harrods we really didn’t know where to go first. Wooow so many people and so many halls and floors! Just a maze.. but everything was quickly obvious! Unbelievable that they have EVERYTHING, but really everything! From cheap to very expensive. You can spend a whole day. After this weary day we went to Covent Garden to eat something and enjoy the cozy atmosphere and markets.

WHAT TO DO @ COVENT GARDEN ?

× They have shops such as: Apple Store, Chanel, Dior, Disney Store, Jack Wills, Ladurée, Ted Baker , ..
× Make-up brands such as: Urban Decay, Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury, Kiko, MAC, NARS , ..
× Amazing markets (and souvenirs) such as: Apple Market, East Colonnade Market & Jubilee Market
× The London Transport Museum
× The beeeest restaurants, pubs, cafés and bars
It’s always fun, especially in the winter months because of the Christmas decorations ♥

× DAY THREE
When we got up it was quite foggy. That’s why we decided to go to the British Museum! Many people don’t know that the entrance is free. I also recommend, do the British Museum if you only have too much time. Do not go there if you’re only two days in London. Unless you are interested in museums ofcource. Because it is very nice to see all of the history. A lot of impressive things like mummies of ancient Egypt. After this interesting visit we took the subway towards Camden Town. We were very curious about this place because we had never been there. When I think of Camden Town, I immediately think of the numerous printed t-shirts, alternative piercing shops and delicious food trucks! Highly recommended! We could be walking around all day. To end the day we went back to SOHO / Carnaby Street to eat something. We found a great restaurant in Kingly Court called The Rum Kitchen. OMG BEST MEAL EVER! It looked very cozy and dark inside. We got immediately a place for two and they told us there was a ‘happy hour’, special cockails for 5 pounds. WHY NOT?! We had a delicious dinner. In Kingly Court, there are many different restaurants and bars. Such as a Greek, Japanese, Asian, Indian, British, Italian food, seafood, juice bars and healthy kitchens. A loooot of choice! Belly is filled up, we went to our hotel and slept (because we needed it!).

WHAT TO DO @ CAMDEN MARKET ?

Take the subway to Camden Town. You come straight to Camden Market. You see a variety of strange shops in a long road. All houses are very nicely painted and decorated. It can’t be crazier! Piercing shops, tattoo shops, leather jackets and high boots .. If you walk a little further you come to Camden Lock, where the big Camden Lock Place is! There’s a looot of people, so watch out for your stuff. There are all special shops where you can find the most strange things and souvenirs. I think there are more than 1oo shops! Downstairs, you can find the delicious food trucks. You get hungry from the smell. The list of all the food and drinks you can find here. After long doubted, we found the amazing chicken roll with hot chili (see picture 3). That was the most delicious wrap I’ve ever ate! For dessert, we ate the brownie from South East Cakery (award winning brownie bars). Best brownies from London! My boyfriend ate them with nutella flavour, and I took the ones with Oreo flavour and caramel. I’d like to taste everything! Then we hiked along the harbors of Camden Town. Camden is definitely worth doing, you see a different side of lovely London♥

× DAY FOUR
And already the last day, but I also think four days is perfect for a city trip London. We woke up early for the last time. It was a beautiful and sunny day! After our English breakfast we went straight to Big Ben and London Eye to take beautiful pictures. Then we went to Trafalgar Square to visit the National Gallery. Beautiful paintings, one by one! The entrance is free. After that, we went to China Town to explore the neighborhood. We saw the great Palace Theatre where Harry Potter and the Cursed Child took place. We wanted to go to the Theatre so much, but one ticket costs 400 pounds (black market) .. We had lunch in Kingly Court again. A roast chicken crispy burger with delicious sweet potato fries of Whyte & Brown. The sweet potato fries have become an addiction, jummmy! What was still on our program was the popular Tower Bridge and The Tower of London. Very touristy but you must have seen this! It became dark so it was time to go to our hotel to pick up the luggage. But not without quickly agreed to go to Brick Lane Market. Once at Kings Cross Station, we couldn’t wait to go to the Harry Potter Shop. What a lovely store! Quick bite to eat at St Pancras International Station and ….. going home.
